This film is inspired by actual events that occurred in 2008 in the United States. The filmmakers avoid the classic pitfalls of most films that are based on a true story by choosing to take up the perspective of the adolescent girls and their accompanying light, fresh and carefree tone. They paint a portrait of adolescence and the impatient urge for independence, freedom and responsibility. In conjunction with the impeccable work of their young actresses, the pair of film directors has made a bright, cheerful, smart and complex film on the passage from adolescence to adulthood.
